There’s something about bubbles that seems to attract the attention of even the most sullen of children! Families who find themselves in Barcelona will most certainly not be disappointed when they discover the fun-filled delight that is Bubbleparc. Bubbleparc Barcelona is known as a ‘micro entertainment park’ can be found in Barcelona’s port, close to the famous Aquarium. It sits in the Plaça de l’Odissea within the Maremagnum shopping centre and the 2,500 square metres it covers is by no means a small area; many children can be seen running around in this contemporary outdoor space, breathlessly partaking in the many inventively-designed activities within it.
For the budding adrenaline junkies in the family, there are activities such as reverse bungy in the ten-metre-high bungy dome. Incredible as it sounds, this activity is suitable for those as young as two years old.
The more able-bodied youngsters and teenagers in your group will also be happy to find that there is a novel experience available to them in the form of the Bubblepods; they’re able to float on water inside a huge bubble. These Bubblepods are transparent, inflated spheres that float in a pool of water 40 centimetres deep. Once the child is inside their Bubblepod, which retains the oxygen inside for an hour, the pod is launched onto the water and they can attempt to balance, run and generally have as much fun as their imaginations will allow for.
If your children are on the small, or young side, the cherry on the cake for them may well be the Triketrack circuit, suitable for five years olds (and perhaps those who are a little older too). There is even something enticing for the tiniest and youngest of children in the form of electric Acuaboats. These boats are very simple to operate and aimed at children of 12 months and above.
Adults needn’t worry about becoming bored. It can be a wonderful opportunity for a little relaxation while the younger members of the family let their hair down. There is an artificial beach where you can comfortably seat yourselves in deckchairs with a fresh juice from the bar, perhaps immersing yourself in your favourite book or Barcelona travel guide!
