The Vic Medieval Market is Back in December

Just 70km from Barcelona you’ll find Vic, where every December they put on an impressive medieval market. This is one of the events of the year for this town of about 45,000. In 2019, the latest edition will take place December 6th-9th. For four days, Vic’s historic downtown goes back in time to the medieval era. Street stalls pop up everywhere where you can buy all kinds of locally-made delicacies such as bread, sweets, sausages, and jams. But that’s not all! There are also stalls selling crafts, making the Vic Medieval Market a great place to start your Christmas shopping. Beauty products, decorations, jewelry, and much more mean that not many leave empty-handed.

The taverns are another major part of this massive medieval market. Go hungry because there are many places to enjoy tasty snacks, cakes, pizzas, and much more. On top of that, craft beers take pride of place accompanying tremendous meals.

To make the most of your time in this medieval-style village, there are all sorts of activities that are open to the public. These include kids’ workshops, music, dance, and street shows.

The old-time jobs area is also worth a visit, where you will have a chance to find out more about certain jobs from the middle ages. Remember, everything around you and everything the people are wearing looks medieval.

The birds of prey exhibit is also very entertaining for kids and adults.

To get to Vic from Barcelona, you can drive or take public transportation. If you choose transit, the best option is the train. Take line R3 from the Barcelona-Sants station. The journey takes about an hour. By car, it’s about 1h10 and you can park your car at our family hotel with parking in Barcelona.
